Welcome to the Florida State University Psychology Department! This department is home to world-class scholars whose research consistently attracts national and international recognition. The quality and impact of faculty and student research has propelled us to the top ranks of psychology programs nationwide. In addition to excelling in research, our faculty are recognized for excellence in teaching. Our department provides outstanding graduate and undergraduate programs in six areas. Students have access to the resources and training they need to achieve distinction in their areas of study including an established program for involving students in research, scholarships and grants for student-initiated research, an international program just for our majors, and an active Psi Chi chapter that hosts events celebrating student research and service. Our commitment to research and teaching is aided by the design of our new building, which was built to our specifications in 2008. Located in the Florida State University science quadrangle, our 103,000-square-foot building features classrooms, computer labs, state-of-the art laboratories, ample meeting space and common break areas to facilitate communication and promote collaboration among faculty and students.
