Qiushan Liu – Graduate Researcher

My research interest is on the connection between executive function and mathematics development. My current focus is on the specific impact of the three main components of executive function (working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibitory control) on decimal and fraction learning. The aim of my research is to generate potential interventions that will be applicable in an educational setting. Lauren Sprague – Graduate Researcher

I’m broadly interested in the development of mathematical thought. My recent work has explored a variety of topics, including the effects of social framing on adults’ attention to proportional relationships, the relative salience of number and area in sets of objects, and the potential usefulness of sketching as a math problem solving strategy.
